The aim of this project was the development of an interactive knitted object through hacking a circular knitting toy machine.
The toy machine was redesigned and modified with 3D printed parts and a step motor controlled by an Arduino Mega.
The object was woven with conductive yarn in order to create a capacitive piano. It was then connected to an Arduino Uno and a speaker.
The concept idea was to create a knitted musical installation in one of the corridors of the university.
To carry out conceptual tests I developed a modeling in Grasshopper and a simulation in Processing.
This project is part of a larger project that I previously developed with a research grant awarded by the University of Buenos Aires.
